Northern Sweden

18/07/19 – Sweden in general left me in awe of mother nature’s beauty. I couldn’t take my eyes off of every single patch of it where ever we were. But Sweden’s north is more appealing to me since it’s rougher, vast and more untouched by humans then down south (at least that’s my feeling). I know I already mentioned it but it reminds me of the AT in Maine… Today was once again a lazy one due to not having to drive somewhere and resting (or zeroing) for a bit.…

Traveling day (part 4)

17/07/19 – today we had a very late start. This morning little Blade’s travel bed broke down so we had to workaround this issue to be able to get back to sleep. Since it’s kinda insecure for him to sleep in there anymore,we decided to get a new one from a store. After breakfast I broke camp and we took the car a couple km back to the town we passed through yesterday. we also bought some groceries for the next couple days. We got back around 11 and left…

Traveling day (part 3)

16/07/19 – yesterday we spent most of the day in the spa, swimming and sliding down water slides since it was raining all day long. Despite the 10 min walks to the spa and back, the forecast was right. It cleared up a bit as we got back and the temperature rose again slightly. It’s been cold that day, around 10 – 12 degrees Celsius so it’s been nice to spend the day indoors. I slept good that night even though it’s not getting really dark outside. The night was…

Traveling day (part 2)

14/07/19 – today has been another beautiful Drive in Sweden’s amazing countryside. Luckily there weren’t as many highway sections as there were the last couple days. Reducing the pace and being able to stop here and there felt great. First we’ve left the flat part as a guy at the last gas station it has described. So we made our way into the rolling hills on our way to Uppsala. The pine trees and rocks and Meadows reminded me hard of parts of New England on the AT and also…

Travelling day (part 1)

13/07/19 – another day of traveling by car along Sweden’s highways has come to an end. We’re right before Stockholm but won’t drive through the city. I’ve been there a couple years ago with my friends from the AT. It’s a great City and has very cool people and places. But we figured that, since we are living in a bigger city back home, that we better skip it this time and shoot for a town located little further north, called Uppsala. That’s where we headed since this morning. After…

Sweden, finally

12/07/19 – the day off was good. For so many reasons like taking a good ol nap early afternoon, being at the beach twice today or the opportunity to learn something new all day long, it’s been a great day. Last night after writing the today’s blog post, I tried to go to sleep. As I’ve set up the awning, I’m sleeping on the floor of it and not in my tent. Because that’s easier that way. Not too much work, you know. So I put on some deet and…

Denmark to Sweden

11/07/19 – we’ve arrived at our first camp ground in Sweden’s Malmö today around 3pm after like 5 hours of driving through Denmark. To be honest, that was stunningly beautiful. Just by driving on the highway. Amazing. I woke up this morning to the sound of rain drops on my tent. Still tired I began to move. Slowly I got out and started my to-do list for this morning. Packing up everything around us and put those items back to an appropriate place, having a small breakfast before going back…

Germany to Denmark (update)

07/07/19 – the last two days went by pretty quickly. I was busy getting the caravan ready for our journey ahead. Even though we’ve packed up most of our stuff almost a week ago there were still some last items that need to be on board before leaving. Cleaning up the Appartment roughly was part of that as well. We set out around 10 this morning with our first stop on the way to the polar circle after about 350km (200 miles). Technically I’m able and allowed to drive at…

Chapter One – Not what I’ve expected

After spending almost two weeks in Atlanta the time had come for me to leave. A lot of things didn’t work out as planned and I had to deal with some serious issues. I managed to fix my gear and went out for a test hike. I thought that I was ready for what ever may lay ahead of me on the PCT. Little did I know what exactly that would be. But wait, let’s start from the beginning. On March 13th my friend Clarity gave me a ride to…

Proloque – Why travelling sometimes sucks

Back in 2015 when I was flying over to the US for hiking the Appalachian Trail I had some “problems” getting into the country. I was thinking about how much time I would need to be able to finish the trail without overstaying and came to the conclusion that 7 Months should be just fine. I didn’t know that my B1/B2 Tourist Visa had a maximum of 6 Months rule to stay in the Country. When the Officer asked me what I’m here for and how long I wanted to…
